I Miss MST3K

There is not one single show on any channel that I miss more than Mystery Science Theater 3000. It's been perhaps 10 years since it was on? It was inventive, sarcastic and above all, damn funny. It was not really mean or mean-spirited. It did not attack or debase anyone. It simply made fun of movies the same way any one of us would. If, say, we were forced to watch bad 50's movies with a couple of our quick-witted smart ass friends. Or with a couple of robots.
I don't know if I would watch it with my child, but truly, there isn't any comedic show now that I could/should/would show him. At least he would enjoy Tom Servo and Crow. And I know he would laugh at the right moments. Even if he didn't get the joke, he would get the punchline.

YES! I *am* Crow. I miss MST3K and "Short Attention Span Theater" on the Comedy Channel.

SAST was such a great show, too! There were so many comics that I saw there first.

I hardly ever look at Comedy Central. The shows are either in poor taste or are poor quality.

Memories... light the corners of my mind... misty water color memories...

By the way, do you remember having to sing that song in like 4th or 5th grade?

No, er, memories of that...

I do remember having those stupid choir nights through elementary school. I blocked most of the actual events I guess. I do remember when we were singing some baseball song, and Comfort Cheng yelled "SAFE!" before we were all to yell it. And then we (me mostly) yelling "SAFE!" at him randomly for a month. *Good times*

Do they still do that sort of thing? Will I have to be tortured in the same manner we tortured our parents?

LOL! Comfort Cheng... a name I haven't heard or thought about in 30 years.

Yeah, I remember that "Take Me Out to the Ballgame," as well as that God-forsaken Joan Bayez "Blue Bayou" song. Oh, and something by Neil Diamond. Ugh! What were they thinking?

Yes, parents are still tortured. We attended a choir night that had something to do with the kids going off to 6th grade or some such thing. That was kind of painful. And orchestra night, which was actually quite good given we're talking 5th graders and stringed instruments. Of course, my little girl was note perfect in both. ;)
