S - IALD

Do you know how frustrating it is to always be the smartest person in the room, day after day?

Actually, no. You don't.

Stop spending so much time alone.

Mark the time: 36 hours, 49 minutes from time of post to comment. Really had to think hard for a bon mot. That's okay. I've learned to have patience for the less witty.

I have a life, Nerd King. ;)

Okay, so a little back story for this: At work I had two grown men acting like 4 year-olds, and one is higher in the management chain. In the course of getting to the core issue (the details are unimportant in more ways than one) the one with more power (now known as "A") claims that the other's ("B") problem is his (B's) frustration for not being in charge. A claims that B feels he is smarter than the rest since he has a college degree. And B is frustrated in that he feels he is smart enough to do it his way. And he resents A for telling him different ways of doing things. A says that B needs to understand that sometimes he has to listen to others when they are essentially his boss, even if B feels he is intellectually superior.
I quipped back that I learned to cope with this, and with time so will B. And A did not even get it.
So, amused by my wit, but frustrated by my intellectual inferiors, I used my coping mechanism: my blog.

And that's Cool Nerd King, thank you very much!

And THANK YOU SO MUCH for the first comment! Such a great comeback for such a pompous post!

This sounds very much like an episode of Chuck. Did A then reply "you're soft... like pudding"? I watch too much TV.

And you're welcome, ahem... "Cool" Nerd King. :)

I ABSOLUTELY LOVE CHUCK! Best series out there! There have been some major strange plot twists that just make this show so enjoyable. And Sarah is hawt!
I wish I worked at Buy More...

who could A possibly be?

By the way, completely unrelated post--Kelley and I (and families in tow) will be paying you a visit in June. Be prepared.

Leah! So glad you have made your presence known! Leah works with me, but not for much longer.

As we already talked, you now know who A and B are. Keep that to yourself!

And definitely let me know how you scored on the nerd test!

I get to meet Kelley? (And family!) Wow!

Email me the dates, because I have inventory that month. (I think late 20's)

Oh, crap. What if you think I'm a dork?!

Kelley! Missed your wit and wisdom around here!
Now see here. You should never worry about someone else's opinion. Especially by someone as goofy as me.

But you realize that the sarcastic part of me (SEE THIS POST!) has several answers to your question.
4. Well, you hang around John, so there must be something dorky about you.
3. You could take a certain test to prove/disprove that you are a dork. (John and I were both way too proud to declare our nerdiness to the world.)
2. Your dorkiness doesn't matter anyway. I will still be the smartest person in the room.
1. What makes you think that I don't already think/know that? :)

Seriously, I am more worried that I will only confirm all the stuff John's told you about me. :0
